Professor Mari Dezawa committed to evidence.
A physician and neuroscientist at Tohoku University in Japan,
she studied adult stem cells for decades—years ahead of broader acceptance.
Her method was observation:
steady, patient, precise.
2010 – Discovery of a unique adult stem cell type capable of surviving severe stress and repairing diverse tissues.
Named them Multilineage-Differentiating Stress-Enduring Cells, or MUSE Cells. Pluripotent-like, but stable, with no reprogramming required. In published studies, they migrate to sites of tissue damage, demonstrate unique safety characteristics, and showed no evidence of tumor formation.
Decades of research followed— including extensive preclinical models and Phase II human trials in Japan. To date, 120+ globally published papers have characterized the safety, stability, and regenerative potential of Dezawa MuseCells®.
By 2025, Muse Cell Innovations™ was formed as the exclusive global licensor of her platform—ensuring that what began in a university lab could now be implemented with the same rigor that defined its origin.
